Dear Sir or Madam,
Thank you for the information you have sent to me.
Could I please ask whether you could break down the figures into
what an individual would get i.e. in Sheffield the amount is made
up of £103 funded nursing care and £372 based on social services
levels. This makes a total of £475 per week at CHC funded levels.
If you have a minimum or maximum CHC funding level per week that
information would also be helpful.
Yours sincerely,
Jill Wall

Dear Jill,
Please find the information you requested.
With respect to 'top-ups', these are not allowed for NHS Continuing Care.
NHS services are free at the point of delivery and are effectively 'all or
nothing'. If the local authority funds someone's care they will allow
top-ups and this happens regularly. However, clients may purchase
additional services if they are not deemed to be a healthcare need. For
instance a client receiving acre at home may choose to buy additional
hours care; in a care home with nursing a client may choose to purchase
'optional extras' such as dry cleaning, hairdressing, complimentary
therapy, etc, anything that is not considered an essential part of
someone's healthcare needs.
Could you please clarify the 1^st part of your request?
