Dear Mr Badger

Further to your request for information under the Freedom of Information Act, I have pleasure in providing the following information in relation to NHS Bury (Bury PCT).

(1.) The total expenditure (including children, equipment & jointly funded patients) was:

2006/07 £5,072,000

2007/08 £4,544,000

2008/09 (to 30th Sept) £2,602,000

(2.) The unweighted GP population was:

2006/07 191,000 (as at 01/01/07)

2007/08 191,500 (as at 01/04/07)

2008/09 192,600 (as at 01/10/08)

The per capita Continuing Care spend is therefore

2006/07 £26.55 (=£5,072,000 / 191,000)

2007/08 £23.73 (=£4,544,000 / 191,500)

2008/09 £13.51 (=£2,602,000 / 192,600)

(3.) The number of people who received Continuing Care funding (including children but excluding patients who only received equipment) was:

2006/07 99 patients

2007/08 138 patients

2008/09 (to 30th Sept) 109 patients

(4.) The average value of Continuing Care funding for each year is therefore

2006/07 £51,232 per patient (=£5,072,000 / 99 patients)

2007/08 £32,928 per patient (=£4,544,000 / 138 patients)

2008/09 (to 30th Sept) £23,872 per patient (=£2,602,000 / 109 patients)

I trust this information is of assistance to you.

Kind Regards
