From: Ian Salisbury
28 September 2010
Dear Architects Registration Board,
On 11 August the Minister with responsibility for the Architects
Act, Mr Andrew Stunell MP wrote: "In the spirit of the coalition
agreement and 'Programme for Government', Cabinet Office, HMT and
departments are carrying out a programme of review across all
public bodies to consider whether they remain necessary".
Please may I know:
1. Whether the ARB has been the subject of such a review, and
2. Whether there has been any correspondence between the Board
(including any of its members) and the present Government in
connection with such a review (whether or not such a review has
been undertaken).
Please provide me with all the information in the ARB's possession
that relates to such a review (whether or not that review has taken
place), extending the scope of the information to include any
compromise reached with the Government arising out of or in
connection with such a review, and all the information relating to
any agreement or undertaking with the present Government, or
request by the present Government, to reduce the cost of
registration under Part II of the Architects Act 1997.
Yours faithfully,
Ian Salisbury
