DCMS Case Ref: 96250
Dear Dutch Antaris,
Re: your original information request dated 26 February 2008 and follow up
request dated 5 June for information regarding contact with the Internet
Service Providers Association (ISPA)
I refer to your information requests for "copies of correspondence with
the Internet Service Providers Association (ISPA) with regards to the
blocking of copyright material". I am dealing with your requests under
the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
I apologize for the delay in providing a response to your original
internet submission, which was received on 26 February 2008. I can also
confirm that your subsequent enquiry was received on 5 June. I am pleased
to say that I am providing you below with the information you requested.
I should explain that your original information request was forwarded to
the Creative Industries Division of the Department for Culture, Media and
Sport (DCMS), who transferred this to the Department for Business
Enterprise and Regulatory Reform (BERR) on 13 March 2008. It was believed
your enquiry could be best answered by BERR. However, we should have
informed you of this decision, for which I apologize.
Further to your enquiry of 5 June we have undertaken some further
investigations within the Department to identify whether we in DCMS hold
any information that falls within the scope of your request. I am pleased
to inform you that we have located a meeting invitation, dated 5 February
2008, from the ISPA to the Minister of State, the Rt Hon Margaret Hodge
MBE MP. We have also located a joint letter of invitation, dated 21
December 2007, from the DCMS and BERR to the ISPA (among others) to attend
the Convergence Think Tank seminars taking place in February, March and
April 2008. We understand the ISPA did not reply to the invitation.
