Conflict of Interests?
Mr G Denham made this Freedom of Information request to Children and Family Court Advisory Support Service
The request was successful.
From: Mr G Denham
22 December 2010
Dear Children and Family Court Advisory Support Service,
Please can you confirm whether it is a Conflict of Interests for a
Guardian ad Litem to be friends on a personal level with the
Solictor/Legal Counsel representing the Local Authority (ie.
hugging/embracing, sharing lunch etc.).
Guardian ad Litems are supposedly independent and cannot/should not
be influenced, how can this be maintained when they are friends
with the Local Authority Counsel?
Yours faithfully,
Mr G Denham
