Confirmation Dates of Advice Requested from the ICO

Jon Green made this Freedom of Information request to Rother District Council

The request was partially successful.

From: Jon Green

7 August 2008

Dear Sir or Madam,

Published correspondence frequently refers to the fact that the
Council has sought advice and guidance from the ICO concerning the
validity of email addresses for making FOI requests.

Could you please confirm the dates that the Council sought advice
and whether a formal response was received.

Please note that I am not asking for a copy of the advice nor for
any information that may be regarded as legal counsel etc.

Yours faithfully,

Jon Green

Dear Lynda Crawford,

Thank you.

Whilst the letter is informative it does indicate that the ICO was
writing seperately to the Council and on their own initiative.

You may wish to consider their response in light of my comments.

Yours sincerely,

Jon Green
