Dear Sir or Madam,
I would like to make a request as regards to the concessionary
travel arrangements in your authority under the terms of Freedom of
Information Act.
1. Does your authority provide concessionary travel passes to those
individuals registered with their local Social Services department
as disabled on the grounds of being a mental health user or
survivor?
2. If your authority does have such arrangements why was the
decision taken to extend the scheme in this way and what
arrangements are in place?
3. If your authority does not have such arrangements does your
authority have some other arrangement beyond the statuary minimum
to provide passes to those with mental health issues?
4. If your authority does not have such arrangements why was the
decision taken not to extend the scheme in this way and has
consideration been given to extending the scheme in this way in the
future?
5. Would it be possible to provide copies of any relevant policy
documents you may have?

Your reference number is 163/0809.
Your request for information has now been considered and, to the best of
our knowledge, the information we hold which relates to your request is
set out below:
1. Does your authority provide concessionary travel passes to those
individuals registered with their local Social Services department as
disabled on the grounds of being a mental health user or survivor?
Bolsover District Council provides concessionary travel in accordance
with the Department for Transport. Eligibility Guidance to local
authorities on assessing eligibility of disabled people in England for
concessionary bus travel (please see attached document).
2. If your authority does have such arrangements why was the decision
taken to extend the scheme in this way and what arrangements are in
place?
We do not hold such information as it does not apply.
3. If your authority does not have such arrangements does your authority
have some other arrangement beyond the statuary minimum to provide
passes to those with mental health issues?
Bolsover District Council works in partnership with the Derbyshire
Mental Health Services NHS Trust and has designed a form for
confirmation of eligibility for applicants to take to their trust
representative.
4. If your authority does not have such arrangements why was the
decision taken not to extend the scheme in this way and has
consideration been given to extending the scheme in this way in the
future?
There are no plans to extend the scheme further in the future. Any
extension would be cost prohibited.
5. Would it be possible to provide copies of any relevant policy
documents you may have?
Please see attached, the Department for Transport Eligibility guidance
as mentioned in response 1 above.
