Dear Ms Erskine,

I refer to your request for a review of the handling of your request for
statistical information, namely:

. the number of "service" and "comeback" (decision) complaints
that have been made concerning the service/decisions of the SPSO for the
periods,

o April 2007 to March 2008

o April 2008 to end February 2009

. Details of the number of outstanding complaints at the end of
February 2009 and the time when they were first made to the SPSO to the
nearest month

I have now looked into why you have not received a response to your
request. Your email, once received, was forwarded to our Information
Analyst for processing. Unfortunately although your request was logged in
our tracking system, a combination of technical and resourcing factors
meant your request was not processed any further.

I have now brought this to our Information Analyst's attention and asked
her to respond to your original request as a matter of priority. I have
asked her to reply to you as soon as possible, but within two weeks at the
very most. I have been advised that some of the information you have
requested is already available on our website, however I will ask the
Information Analyst to clearly indicate this to you in her response, where
this is the case.

Please accept our apologies for failing to respond to your request, and I
hope the full response to follow will meet your satisfaction.

Yours sincerely,

David Robb
