Complaints From Children About Cafcass

Liz R (Account suspended) made this Freedom of Information request to Children’s Commissioner for England

Children’s Commissioner for England did not have the information requested.

From: Liz R (Account suspended)

23 February 2010

Dear Children’s Commissioner for England,

Where can I obtain statistics for complaints made by children
against CAFCASS officers please?

I have read this; from a child ;

''i think that Cafcass should be demolished for once and for all.
It took her three times to get it right. She told many lies to the
judge which I did not say and I did not want put on. She was
basically making it completely wrong. I could do a better job just
doing it myself, being my own mouth. A 2 year old could protect
themselves better. People that lie aren't to be trusted. I didn't
really have enough time to talk to her because she ran off when I
told her off about why did she lie to the judge. Children are in
serious danger with people like them going about saying they are in
charge of your safety when really they shouldn't be in charge of a
dustbin.''

- and so I wondered if I may ask for information on 1. How many
complaints from children are being heard and where are they
recorded (all government departments please?) 2. Why is the 'Voice
of The Child in Care' not addressing these problems with Cafcass
and Social Workers generally- they appear to be a pretty useless
organisation according to children I've heard from and influenced
by social workers here- so where may I obtain the statistics that
best describe how children are being heard and where please? Thanks
in advance for any facts?

Yours faithfully,

Liz R

Dear Children’s Commissioner for England,

Regarding my initial request;

I am referring to children known to social services in any
capacity, including LAC ('Looked After children')children as well
as children who have social workers involved with their families
and children in care and any children anywhere who have complained
of any aspect of social work and it be recorded, where please? Also
is there any planning in place to improve access for children to
complain legally/in courts of law? It seems to me children are not
being heard very much at all at the moment

thank you

Yours faithfully,

Liz R

I refer to your emails dated 23rd February in which you submitted a
Freedom of Information request: regarding Complaints from children about
Cafcass.

Unfortunately we do not hold the information you have requested either
within the organisation or have access to obtain it. However Cafcass

children against Cafcass officers: http://www.cafcass.org .Individual
Local authorities may be to provide you with information regarding the
number of complaints they have received from 'Looked after children'.
Another organisation that may be able to advice you regarding the
complaints process for 'looked after children is The Children's Rights

In addition it may be helpful for you to contact 'Voice of the Child in
care to discuss the concerns the young people have raised with you:
www.voiceyp.org

you further.

Hi

I was in court last week for access issues. The local Cafcass chief swore under oath that My parents ( childrens Grandparents) wanted no contact with the children the hearing was about. She later went on to admit she had only seen them for 1 -2 hours in the last 8-12 months and they didn't want to speak to her. The childrens grandparents have put in two letters requesting information or help and recieved 1 acknowledgement of receipt but no detailed reply.

Dear Children’s Commissioner for England,

The thing is because parents who are under threats from secret
courts and are angry and trying to fight back with *no access to
justice* knowing their children re being abused in multiple ways-
and ONLY the guilty point to the parent and say 'see - how horrible
and angry they are>All 'personality disordered' and 'nutters' type
of thing? No. There is *mass child abuse covered up in these
courts* and we need all the help we NOW so we can get to prevent
mass rioting and maybe civil war- I am in no way joking, the courts
must not be allowed to judge anyone without a jury anymore, I'm
asking you to please understand the gravity of the situation and
the need for brevity /brevitas- children are being hurt by people
at the top abusing positions, whether it is them abusing or
allowing the abuse is for you to find out with us please

Yours faithfully,

Liz R
