Complaints about wheelie bins
S F Harrold made this Freedom of Information request to Norwich City Council
The request was successful.
From: S F Harrold

Dear Norwich City Council,
I recently received a letter from you entitled "Bins on Street"
with date 23/08/11, and your reference EH11/27288.
1) The letter referred to complaints abut wheelie bins being left
out on the street between rubbish collections.
I should like to know how many complaints have been made:
a) Within the Lincoln Street area, as covered by the postcodes NR2
3JY, NR2 3LA, NR2 3LB, NR2 3JZ.
b) Within the wider NR2 3 postal area.
c) Within the entire area for which Norwich City Council has
responsibility
2) Your letter references 4 ways in which leaving wheelie bins out
"often causes a nuisance to individual as well as the local
community". The categories you suggest are:
i) obstructing pedestrians
ii) making the area look untidy
iii) may be vandalised, stolen or attract littering and fly-tipping
iv) may be contaminated by others resulting in the non-collection
of your bin by your contractors.
I would like to know how many incidents or complaints you have
recorded in each of these 4 categories.
a) Within the Lincoln Street area, as covered by the postcodes NR2
3JY, NR2 3LA, NR2 3LB, NR2 3JZ
b) Within the wider NR2 3 postal area.
c) Within the city as a whole
I specifically do not wish for any information which includes any
personal information about the complainant.
I have searched your website for records of complaints using the
search string "complaints about wheelie bins" and cannot find any
relevant information.
Yours faithfully,
S F Harrold
