Complainants perspective of how complaints referred to your proffessional standards department are handled
Steven King made this Freedom of Information request to Wiltshire Constabulary
Waiting for an internal review by Wiltshire Constabulary of their handling of this request.
From: Steven King
31 January 2012
Dear Wiltshire Constabulary,
Would you please provide all the information you have on the
publics satisfaction with the performance of your professional
standards department during 2009, 2010 , 2011. Please provide this
information in as much detail as you can up to your £450 limit, and
, following my reading on the internet the many bad experiences
members of the public have suffered at the hands of your
professional standards department, I would be interested to read
any notes or minutes of meetings your Wiltshire Police Authority
have had to discuss the apparent dissatisfaction with the service
they have received, and to see what steps have been taken to
improve the service and to look again at matters they have dealt
with where the public were dis satisfied and suffered unfair
treatment or an injustice? If you do not hold this information,
please pass my request to the WPA.
Yours faithfully,
Steven King

Dear Pugh, Claire,
Thank you for your standard acknowledgement, again maybe you will,
in the interests of accurate data processing, be kind enough to
correct your spelling of my name ?
Yours sincerely,

Dear Harwood, Christopher,
Thank you for your email of 15 02 12, and Im interested to note you
too show your surname before your christian name on emails you send
out, but please dont criticise my responding in the same way -
maybe a quick word with Claire Pugh would be a good idea? Returning
to this request headed 'Complainants perspective ....... ', it
appears you have erroneously responded to a different request here
on this page, rather than this request. I look forward still to
receiving a proper response to the actual request ive made on this
page within the FOIA time constraints.
Yours sincerely,
Steven King

Dear Harwood, Christopher,
I wish to activate your review procedure in respect of 2012 - 049,
as I cannot see where any of the information I asked for has been
supplied or is available to me. Surely it MUST exist ?

Dear Harwood, Christopher,
On 08 03 12 I asked you to activate your review procedure in
respect of this FOI request. Although it would be good practice and
courteous to acknowledge such a request, ive heard nothing since
the date of making the internal review request and wish to
establish if the review is underway, and will you confirm if your
policy or guidelines indicate that you should acknowledge a review
request, and of course if they do why has this failed to happen ?
Yours sincerely,
Steven King

Mr King,
Your request for an internal review has been passed to an independent decision maker who should be in touch shortly, if they already haven't done so. I will forward this e-mail to them.

Dear Harwood, Christopher,
It has now been 70 calendar days since I requested an internal
review of my FOI request, but since then ive heard nothing further
on this matter. Will you please tell me who is supposed to be
carrying out this review, and what are the usual timescales for an
internal review to be completed compared to other review requests
you have received. Is there a policy or procedure that indicates a
timescale ? if so please identify it so I can see it on your
website?
Yours sincerely,
Steven King
