From: Bryan
2 January 2011
Dear North Ayrshire Council,
It is my understanding that those whom get Community Service their
local authority is in charge of supplying work for this to be
carried out?
Therefore if correct, can you tell me from Jan 2009 to Dec 2010
what work has been carried out for the community? How many people
have performed community service in this time and how many hours?
Does those whom are doing Community Service have to wear any
clothing to make clear to the public that he/she is doing Community
Service?
I have heard from people whom have done community service that at
times they ''just sit about all day''. If for example those
offenders are not doing anything 'active', will this still eat into
their number of Community Service hours. In effect for example: A
person with 100 hours, only does 50 hours of 'service', the other
50 hours spent doing nothing. However these 50 hours count.
Can members of the public request help from Community Service eg
disabled person needs help to cut grass. Or failing that submit
proposed work?
Can you also tell me for the same time period how many Probation
Orders North Ayrshire Council has dealt with, including how many
Sex Offenders North Ayrshire Council monitor?
Yours faithfully,
Bryan Morgan
