Dear BRELSFORD Jade, Web Manager and FoI Officer, Communications
Team,

You say:

1. We have taken the meaning of ‘graduate’ to refer to degree level
or
equivalent, however, if you are referring to a different meaning
please inform
us at the earliest convenience.
Please can you state what you mean by “common purpose graduates”?
For
example, are you referring to all PCT employees who have a degree?
Or, all
job descriptions which list a degree as part of the essential
criteria.
2. Please can you state what you mean by “common purpose course”?
Plymouth
PCT has internal training available to staff, some of which is
mandatory for
certain job roles. Staff may also be sent on training courses
provided by
external organisations to fulfil a qualification/training need for
their job role.

I reply:

1. There is a "training and networking" organisation called "Common
Purpose" http://www.commonpurpose.org.uk/home.aspx

They produce a class of person called a "Common Purpose graduate"
although this is not a degree level qualification.

I mean all PCT employees who have been on courses run by the Common
Purpose organisation and are entitled to call themselves "Common
Purpose graduates".

2. By "Common Purpose course" I mean courses run by the Common
purpose "training and networking" organisation.

Yours sincerely,

John Walker
