Dear Sir or Madam,
Common Purpose graduates, expenditure and invoices
I see that you use the services of Common Purpose:
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/life_an...
Please provide details of:
1. the names and ranks/grades of all employees in your organisation
who are Common Purpose 'graduates'.
2. the total expenditure by your organisation on Common Purpose
courses for each of the years 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002,
2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008 to date together with a copy
of the invoice for each Common Purpose course paid for by your
organisation.
By 'Common Purpose', I mean the training organisation of that name:
http://www.commonpurpose.org By Common Purpose 'graduate', I refer
to those people who have passed the advanced Common Purpose
courses.
I realise that there is a somewhat similar request here
http://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/br...
But your reply is lacking in detail.
Thank you.
Yours faithfully,
John Walker

Dear Mr Walker
I am writing in reply to your request dated 22 September 2008.
Although the response to this request was covered in a similar
request from yourself I am happy to reconfirm for completeness.
The Council has no current employees who are Common Purpose
“graduates” ie have passed the advanced Common Purpose courses. The
only expenditure incurred by the Council since 1997 is £188 paid in
1998.
I trust the above response will meet your purposes but if, for
whatever reason you wish to get back to me, please feel free to do
so. In particular if you are unhappy with the information provided
or how your request was handled please make contact and I will
explain how you can make a complaint either to the Council or to
the Information Commissioner.

Dear Mr Walker
I am writing in reply to your e-mail dated 10 October 2008.
The Council completed a questionnaire as part of the Times Best
Councils to work for award. The questionnaire asked about training
and our reply made reference to Common Purpose. This reference
reflected the Council’s past use of the training and our
recognition of the initiative. The Times extracted this comment
from what was a lengthy submission for their article.
