Under freedom of information please can you provide the following:
1. Names and job titles of all of your employees who have
participated in leadership training programmes delivered by Common
Purpose UK, the specific Common Purpose programmes they have
participated in and the dates of those courses.
2. Names and represented wards of all of your Councillors who have
taken part in Common Purpose courses and the specific programmes
and dates
3. The total sums spent by your authority on Common Purpose
programmes for staff and councillors in each year from 1997 to 2008
inclusive.

FREEDOM OF INFORMATION (SCOTLAND) ACT 2002 - REQUEST FOR INFORMATION
I am sorry for the delay in responding to your request for information and
hope this has not caused you any inconvenience.
You have requested information relating to Common Purpose programmes.
Specifically:
- names and job titles and course dates for employees who have
participated;
- names and wards and course dates of councillors who have
participated;
- total sum spent by the Council on Common Purpose programmes from
1997 to 2008.
Details of training undertaken by individuals constitutes personal data
as defined in the Data Protection Act 1998 and is therefore exempt from
release in response to a request made via the Freedom of Information
(Scotland) Act 2002 under Section 38 of the Act.
The records of participation in Common Purpose programmes were disposed of
in 2006. The information you have requested either no longer exists or is
exempt from release in response to a request made under the Freedom of
Information (Scotland) Act 2002 and I am unable to supply you with the
information you have asked for.
If you are not happy with the way your request has been dealt with you
have the right to appeal within forty days of receipt by writing to the
Director of Corporate Services, Waverley Court, 4 East Market Street,
Edinburgh, EH8 8BG.
If after receiving a response from the Director of Corporate Services you
remain dissatisfied, you have six months within which you may ask the
Scottish Information Commissioner to conduct a review of our decision. You
