Dear Mr Grothier,

I write to advise that I am in receipt of your e-mail dated 6^th November,
regarding the commercial standing of South Wales Police. I apologise for
the time it has taken me to acknowledge your request. Due to the volume
and complexity of requests being handled by this office, we are currently
experiencing a backlog of work which is causing significant delays to our
normal request process.

This letter confirms that your request is now receiving the attention of
Freedom of Information staff, who will process your request as soon as
they are able. Given the current backlog, I am unable to specify a date by
which you will receive a final response from this office and advise that
this may result in South Wales Police being unable to respond within the
statutory 20 working day timescale for which I can only offer my
apologies.

While I hope that you will be patient with us on this matter, I would
advise of your right to complain to the Information Commissioner who will
consider the matter. (Further information on the work of the commissioner
is available via [1]www.ico.gov.uk )

Should you wish to contact us regarding your request, please quote
reference number 811_08 on any correspondence. Should you wish to contact
us by e-mail, please do so using the mail box
[2][South Wales Police request email] . (Please do not reply directly to my own
e-mail address as this may result in a further delay to your request).

South Wales Police provides you the right to request a re-examination of
your case under its review procedure (copy attached). If you decide to
request such a review and having followed the Constabulary's full process
you are still dissatisfied, then you have the right to direct your
comments to the Information Commissioner who will give it consideration.

Dear Sir or Madam,

Under the Freedom of Information Act you should have replied by
now, and are breaking the law.

There seems to be a propensity by police forces to do this. However
I remind you that you are not being clever, simply undermining the
British public's confidence in already tainted policing.

It remains for me to remind you that none are above the law, and
its only fools that think that they are for justice will always
have its day, no matter how long it takes.

Yours sincerely,

David Grothier
