Dear Sir or Madam,
During the period 2003-2009, the SPSO received a total of 903
"comeback" or challenge complaints against decisions made by the
SPSO relative to original complaints made by members of the public
against a variety of Scottish public bodies. In terms of the
Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act, 2002, please supply details
of such "comeback" or challenge complaints together with the SPSO
responses and details of any investigations carried out, for the
period November 2008 to end of March 2009.
Such details should be redacted in line with 38(1)(b) and 26(a) of
FOISA.
Please supply the information via this Email address or
alternatively via the SPSO website. If the latter, please let me
know when this has been done.
Yours faithfully,
G.A. Hamilton

Dear Mr Hamilton,
It seems the format of the link may have changed between my sending the
email and you receiving it, as can often happen when sending messages
between different email applications.
Because it is a long link, when you click on it, it may not recognise
the full wording, and therefore may not be able to load the correct
page. Please try again, ensuring all of the wording between the
quotation marks below is copied into the address line in your browser
window. I have tested the page at this end, and it does load
successfully as long as the full wording for the URL is used.

I hope this is helpful.

Dear Ask,
Thank you for your reply. The link still appears to be broken, so I
wonder if you could please supply it, not as a link, but rather in
text complete so that I can enter it as a full URL.
Yours sincerely,
G.A. Hamilton

Dear Mr Hamilton,
The link was originally entered as text but the email program can
automatically detect that it is a URL and tries to turn it into an
active link.
I am very sorry you have had difficulty accessing the information. You
may find it easier to browse to it from our home page. In this case go
to www.spso.org.uk and from the options on the left hand side, please
click the following:
How to complain
Complaining about the SPSO
Then in the first paragraph of text on that page you should see a link
that says "Challenges to Casework Decisions". Clicking that link should
take you to the appropriate page, and the documents are available to
download at the bottom of that page.
I hope this helps you to access the information.
Yours sincerely,
Louise Rae
