Dear Sir or Madam,

I am interested in NERC's funding of attempts to obtain new
paleoclimate temperature proxy data - including, but not restricted
to tree ring data.

I would like to receive an analysis of the number of applications
for grants to fund this kind of research and grants actually
awarded, covering the period since 2001.

If it is possible I would like to know also the sums applied for
and awarded too.

Since this is self-evidently environmental information, I assume
this request will be handled under EIR.
