Dear Ms Kelly,

Just a polite reminder that this FOI request has only 5 days left
to run based on your agreed time scales.

Given the current interest in second homes, and the obvious
availability of this data (I understand that the data requested is
readily available on the pay slips of the individuals involved) one
would hope that you would be able to respond in a timely manner.

I'm sure that you are in the process of sending the requested data,
so many apologies for the reminder.

Yours sincerely,

Paul Haigh

Dear Mr Castle,

Thank you for your message dated 19th May 2009. Unfortunately you
seem to have missed a portion of the figures that I have asked for.

My original request was:

"1) The total amount of public money provided to the current MP
Martin Salter between the years 1997 and 2002 for the purpose of
providing a home in London; and

2) The total amount of public money provided to the ex-MP Jane
Griffiths between the years 1997 and 2002 for the purpose of
providing a home in London."

You appear to have only provided figures for 2001/2002, whereas the
request was made for figures back to 1997.

Yours sincerely,

Paul Haigh

Dear Sir or Madam,

I missed your previous comment that 'No other information is held.'
regarding the other years.

Firstly,it cannot be true that any employer holds 'no information'
on the salary and expenses that are paid to it's employees for
previous years to 2001.

As I previously explained, this information is available on the pay
slips of the individuals involved. Whilst I understand that the
Additional Costs Allowance was not in operation for these years,
there was a similar (no receipt) process for claiming money for a
second home, although I am not aware of the exact naming of the
policy.

As a result, I do not believe that 'no information is held' in this
regard, and I wish to request an Internal Review.

To support the review, clearly MPs expenses are of significant
public interest at the moment, and it would be extremely
un-intuitive if this is used as a reason to withhold this
information.

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of
Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of House of Commons's
handling of my FOI request 'Claims for London Home for Martin
Salter and Jane Giffiths between 1997 and 2002'.

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is
available on the Internet at this address:

Dear Mr Haigh,

Apologies for the confusion.

No information is held prior to 2001. This is in line with the House of Commons' retention of records policy which requires information to be retained for the current year plus three.

Yours sincerely,
