Dear Sir or Madam,

I am stunned that the information provided by the Civil Service
Year Book is not freely available on-line in the manner that most
other non-secret government information is.

According to
http://www.opsi.gov.uk/official-publicat...
:

"The CSYB is published by a private company under the
superintendence of HMSO."

Please can you supply me with information about:

* the name and ownership of this private company;

* the nature and content of the contract between HMSO and this
private company, including an explanation of the level of
"superintendence";

* details of the financial accounts between HMSO and this private
company, including revenues from sales, the cost of purchases of
CSYB to other branches of government, and the value of services
provided to this publisher in kind.

Yours faithfully,

Julian Todd.
