Thank you for your Freedom of Information request received on 3 August
2009. I offer my sincere apologies for the delay in responding to you
and any inconvenience this may have caused.

You requested the following information around the recruitment of job
reference SSC/1683/MKS. I have consulted the Human Resources team and
can provide the following response.

1. How many people applied?
5 people

2. How many people got short-listed for interview?
3 were short-listed

3. The actual questions used in the interview(s) for this post,
including a copy of the document/form or documents/forms used to record
the interviewees responses, in addition to scoring or evaluating any
interviewee's responses.

The interview questions are as follows. The interview panel made notes
on the response of each candidate during the interview.

Interview question 1. What relevant experience of statutory social work
with children and families do you have and how do you think it applies
to this position?

Interview question 2. How would you ensure consistency of thresholds
for intervention when dealing with Child Protection referrals?

Interview question 3. What supervisory experience do you have? What
factors do you take into account in staff supervision and appraisal?
How have you addressed poor performance or would expect to?

Interview question 4. The R&A is an evolving, responsive team and has
been externally evaluated as a well functioning service; How would you
ensure that the team continues to provide a good service and is equipped
to meet future challenges and what do you envisage maybe some of those
challenges?

Interview question 5. Islington Children in Need Teams are part of Area
Children and Yound People's Partnerships and Inter-agency working
arrangements; How might you apply your experiences of interagency
working to the work and direction of the R&A team? Give an example of
how you have resolved conflict when working in partnership with other
agencies/professionals.

Interview question 6. The Children in Need Service will be subject to
the new Unannounced Ofsted Inspection programme, along with the other
CiN teams; What as a CiN Team Manager would you do in preparation?

4. A copy of any document/form or documents used to shortlist candidates
for this post.
