Dear Hillingdon Borough Council,
Please can you advise the following?
1. What was the 'payoff' renumeration package for the last exiting
cheif exec D Leatham?
2. Is there any terms of the current Chief Exec that prescribe an
exit payment? If so what is this clause and the amount?
Thank you
Yours faithfully,
Matthew Ball

Quite ironic, Hillingdon managed to respond on April Fools day. I trust the information is genuine and Mr Dunachie is not 'paid off' for presiding over such a disgrace.
Time will tell

Peter kindly wrote:"The Council should note that the information requested is not exempt information e.g. on the grounds that it is personal information because this sort of information will have to be made public under the Account & Audit Regulations 2009. The regulations say that Councils will have to disclose for senior executives "compensation for loss of employment"
Does the same apply to NHS CEOs Severance pay? I have asked a FOI question from an NHS Trust and FOI are quoting Data Protection Act exemption.

Mr Speers, re Data Protection excuse you could ring Campaign For Freedom Of Info 020 7831 7477 for advice.

Matthew, their answer does not mention any enhancements to Mr Leatham's pension scheme benefits eg through apply extra years of service, amending pensionable salary.
Maybe you should ask for clarification

Dear Hillingdon Borough Council,
Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of
Information reviews.
I am writing to request an internal review of Hillingdon Borough
Council's handling of my FOI request 'Chief Executive Payoffs'.
You have stated that there is no clause within the Chief executives
contract which indicates any form of exit payment when he may leave
the council. However can you please clarify your response to detail
whether there has been any form of enhancement to the Chief
Executives salary/pension or any other form of payment to offer a
financial benefit if Mr Dunachie should leave the service of the
council?

You need to ask in relation to Mr Leatham whether his pension benefits were enhanced as part of his leaving package and if so by how much. It is unlikely that these arrangements would be built into to a contract of employment. They would be negotiated at termination to persuade the person to go quietly. Therefore best to enquire re D Leatham and not not H Dunnachie
