Dear Government Actuary's Department,
Can you please answer the following questions.
1)Does an outside firm of actuaries ever check the premiums you set
to purchase extra local government pension?
2)Does the National Audit ever spot check the rates you set are
correct so there is no additional charge to the LGPS?
3)Do you ever spot check to find out if LGPS are requesting medical
reports from members wishing to purchase additional pension to see
if they are in reasonable good health and if not, turning them
down?
4) Do you ever get told if members are turned down and if so how
many?
Yours faithfully,
C. Thompson
