Dear University of St Andrews,
I would like to request the following information under the
provisions of the Freedom of Information Act:
1) The proportion of the University of St Andrews' revenue which
was spent on charitable activities in the most recent financial
year for which information is available, excluding the provision of
privately or publicly contracted services (such as tuition or
research) for which the university received payment from the party
for whose benefit the services were provided.
2) a) The proportion of the 2006 intake of undergraduate students
who attended a state school prior to attending the University of St
Andrews;
b) The proportion of the 2006 intake of undergraduate students who
attended a private or fee-paying school prior to attending the
University of St Andrews.
3) a) The proportion of the state school 2006 intake who have since
graduated with first class honours;
b) The proportion of the private school 2006 intake who have since
graduated with first class honours.

Thank you for your email below of 6 June 2011 in which you requested information concerning charitable activity and student performance.
The University will respond to your request as soon as possible and certainly within the 20 working days permitted under section 10 of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002. As your email was received by the University on 6 June 2011 the final date for compliance with your request is 4 July 2011.
The University will contact you should further information be required in order to identify and locate the information you have requested. If additional information is sought from you, the 20 working day period in which the University is required to comply with your request starts from the working day following the date of receipt by the University of the requested clarification.
