Charge to Event Promoters For Use of Platt Fields Park - 11th and 12th June 2010

Dear Manchester City Council,

Please could you advise me of the figure being charged to the
promoters of the two events due to take place in Platt Fields Park
on the 11th and 12th of June 2010, for their use of the park over
that period as well as the periods before and afterwards where much
of the park has been made unavailable to the public.

Could you please also advise me of the measures taken, if any, to
ensure that the funds raised will be spent on the area of
Manchester where Platt Fields is located (Fallowfield, Rusholme and
Moss Side being the adjacent wards), and indeed on the park itself.

I am writing to request an internal review of Manchester City
Council's handling of my FOI request 'Charge to Event Promoters For
Use of Platt Fields Park - 11th and 12th June 2010'.

Whilst I am grateful for the information provided, the charge
stated was a general indication, and it is unclear to me how this
applies to the specific events in the request.

As you will be aware the request related to two events over two
days, with differing capacities (15000 and 20000 on the respective
dates). In addition a large section of the park was closed for a
considerable period while the event setup took place.

Please could you clarify how this is reflected in the charges? Is
the stated charge a one-off charge regardless of the period of park
closure (which would seem a little unreasonable)? Does it apply to
a certain period of time (eg a daily charge) or is it per event?

Please could you explain how the per-head charge applies in the
context of the events specified in the request?
