Change in Commuation Factors Police Pensions

Kenneth Watters made this Freedom of Information request to Strathclyde Police

The request was successful.

From: Kenneth Watters

13 November 2009

Dear Sir or Madam,
I am looking to obtain figures in relation to the number and ranks
of Police Officers who retired from service in Strathclyde and
joined the Strathclyde Pension Fund, between 26 August 2006 and 30
November 2006 both dates inclusive.
My reason for this request is that the commutation factors for
police pensions were recently changed and backdated to 1 December
2006. Strathclyde Fire Service were successful in getting their
change backdated to 26 August 2006.
I am looking to prepare an appeal to the Scottish Public Pensions
Agency seeking a similar start date for police pensions and it
would be useful to know the numbers involved.

Yours faithfully,

Kenny Watters
