Dear Mr Young,

Thank you for your email dated 15 October 2008 concerning the Scotland Office's plans for
celebrating St Andrew's Day 2009.

The Secretary of State is considering a number of ideas on how this special day might be celebrated but no decision has yet been made. Any budgetary allocation would come from the 2008/2009 financial year and this has not yet been confirmed.
