CCTV Convictions
David Pearce made this Freedom of Information request to Kings Lynn and West Norfolk Borough Council
Kings Lynn and West Norfolk Borough Council did not have the information requested.
From: David Pearce
31 January 2011
Dear Kings Lynn & West Norfolk Borough Council,
As the first town in the UK to use CCTV in the town centre, I would
like to request statistics on the number of convictions based on
CCTV evidence from 1987 until 2010 in Kings Lynn, with a breakdown
of different crimes if possible.
Yours faithfully,
David Pearce
From: Richard Mann
24 February 2011
Dear Mr Pearce
Thank you for your e-mail.
Unfortunately, we do not know and are not privy to what CCTV evidence is
used for.
The Borough Council is a "data provider" of CCTV footage. This will then
be used as evidence by whoever has made the request; we do not actually
carry out the prosecutions.
It may help you to contact Norfolk Police, who may be able to help:

If you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Yours sincerely
