Dear East Coast Main Line Company Limited,
Most (if not all) public bodies operating public space CCTV have a
"CCTV Code of Practice" , examples of which can be found using the
following links
http://www.charnwood.gov.uk/pages/cctv
http://www.newark-sherwooddc.gov.uk/pp/g...
and also "CCTV Annual Reports" (example below)
http://www.woking.gov.uk/community/safet...
and a "Control Room Procedures Manual" listing duties,
responsibilities and procedures to be followed is also mentioned
As East Coast Main Line Company Limited is a public body subject to
the Freedom of Information Act I wish to request copies of your
CCTV Code of Practice , CCTV Annual reports for the last 3 years
and the Control Room Procedures Manual listing duties,
responsibilities and procedures to be followed
I appreciate that your company may not use the same titles for the
documents as the local councils listed above , so I am looking for
copies of any documents which contain similar information
The local council documents list the locations of CCTV cameras ,
however I am not particularly interested in the locations of your
CCTV cameras - so I do not mind if these are omitted from your
response
In addition to the above documents relating to CCTV , I wish to
know whether CCTV at stations served by your trains is viewable by
other organisations in real time and/or remote access
Darlington Borough Council states that it can view train station
CCTV from its control room and British Transport Police have remote
viewing suites , so I am seeking the identity of all organisations
able to view CCTV images at stations served by your trains using
real time and/or remote access and ideally the locations that they
have access to (eg the name of the stations - I assume Darlington
Council cannot view Kings Cross)
Some stations may have more than one company's control room
carrying out surveillance (or a control room staffed by more than
one company)in which case it is correct that people should know
which organisations are responsible for the CCTV surveillance at a
particular station in the event that they wish to submit a Data
Protection Subject Access request and to review the CCTV Code of
Practice
Yours faithfully,
Barbara Whittle
