Sue Sim and Northumbria Police said FOI request relating to Martin McGartland attempted murder case was 'Vexatious'. The Information Commissioner has issued a Decision Notice against Sue Sim and Northumbria Police which states, 'The Commissioner finds that the force incorrectly applied section 14(1) to the request. He requires the public authority to respond to the request in accordance with the provisions of section 1 of the Act within 35
calendar days.' That complain was upheld by the Information-Commissioner, Decision Notice: http://www.scribd.com/doc/72333438/Sue-S...

COMPLAINT MADE TO ICO THIS MORNING
You could not make this up; http://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/87... Mike Barker is still covering-up and whitewashing requests and complaints made by me.
This is the proof, if it were needed, that Mike Barker is involved in a cover-up, is whitewashing requests and complains and concealing information. He is braking the law, see here; http://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/38... the information I am requesting, concerning CCTV cameras, it being released by others, including Newcastle Council, however, Mike Barker is continuing with his discrimination and victimization against me.
I also note that Mike Barker has fixed it so his letter can not be copied or printed, it has only been done to above letter, all other NPA replies can be copied and printed. Mike Barker has a great deal to hide.

Mr Mike Barkers background is very interesting ....
1) Mike Barker is Gateshead Council's strategic director of legal and corporate services.
NOW HERE'S THE INTERESTING BIT !
2) Mike Barker (funny enough) is also deputy chief
executive and advising solicitor to Northumbria
Police authority.
3) Could it be Northumbria Police have been having
some ' cozy ' telephone calls with Mr Barker and
vice versa to stop Mr McGartland from obtaining
this information ? (Very probable)
4) Newcastle council seem to have no problem in
releasing the same information http://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/38...
Jeff Hayward left an annotation ( 1 February 2012)
This is more evidence that Northumbria police are covering up in the McGartland case ....
1)By refusing this FOI,Gateshead council are indicating that crime is ' out of control ' in Gateshead and it is of 'paramount' importance that operational procedures and locations of said CCTV cameras are kept a closely guarded secret so criminals cannot use said information
to their advantage, yet .... across the width of a river ie: The Tyne, it is a completely different story with Newcastle council(an area still under the policing control
of Northumbria Police).Newcastle council have no problem with it being general knowledge where their CCTV cameras are located and operational procedures.
2)This refusal to Mr McGartlands request is ludicrous and only magnifies Northumbria Police's underhandedness in their approach to Mr McGartland
This matter will be pursued ! Shame on Northumbria police and their sock puppets !
Jeff Hayward left an annotation ( 2 February 2012)
Here's proof that Mike Barker of Gateshead council along with Northumbria Police are being prejudice towards Martin McGartland.I found this information about CCTV in the Newcastle area yet still Gateshead council refuse to co-operate with an FOI request on the subject !

Also (and i quote)
1992: installation of street-based video surveillance system in Newcastle (a major northern city). The system in Newcastle is closed-circuit television (CCTV) that uses microwaves (an open circuit) to link to the city's main police station.
