Dear Sir or Madam,

CCTV Camera Locations

I refer to your website here :

"All Metro station are monitored 24 hours a day by digital CCTV
cameras. Over 550 cameras cover the entire Metro network, including
platforms, station approaches, subways and car parks."

"For your own safety and comfort please be aware of the following
personal safety guidance:

* Know where CCTV cameras are on stations and wait in those areas"

I note that you encourage people to know where your CCTV cameras
are located

Please send me a list of the locations of all your CCTV cameras

also please state whether the camera can pan, zoom and tilt , has
facial recognition, whether the camera can
record sound (and whether this facility is being used) or has
loudspeakers

Please provide details of whether your CCTV is made available to
other
Data Controllers regularly eg live feed to Police or bus/train
companies

Confirm the location(s) used to view and store the CCTV footage and
confirm whether this function is carried out by your staff or
provide details of any other organisation performing this function

Finally I require a list of CCTV suppliers ,manufacturers and
models used

Please provide the information requested by email , attachments
should be acceptable

Dear Mr Bala,

I refer to your e-mail dated 2nd March 2009 and write to confirm that I
am now in a position to respond.I shall follow the questions in your
e-mail and detail teh answers in numerical order.

1.Our CCTV cameras are based at all our Metro stations.Details of these
stations can be obtained from our website at www.tyneandwearmetro.co.uk
In total there are a total 586 cameras on the system.

2.There are a total of 73 PTZ cameras.In addition there are an
additional 39 Dome cameras which have PTZ functionality.

3.Each of the 5 Local Authorities control rooms within Tyne and Wear are
fully equipped to monitor,control and record cameras on the Network and
each monitor cameras in their own areas.

4.Footage is viewed and stored at our Control Centre in Gosforth and is
carried out by our staff. In relation to the Local authorities you will
need to make seperate enquiries of them in relation to their own
arrangements.

5.List of suppliers are as
follows;Panasonic,Phillips,Bosche,Meyertech,Mitsubishi,Siemens,Vicon,Con
way,Abacus,Alton,SDA Quadrant,Keytech and Physar.Non-bespoke parts are
purchased on a best price basis as they are universally available
through various distribution networks and the Internet.
