Dear Trevor,

It is very difficult to receive clear unambiguous information from West-Lindsey District Council.

Regrettably it is never complete and is provided on an ad hoc basis which seems contrary to the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

I generally now seek advise from the Information Commissioners office who monitor publication scheme provision.

If you don't get the information requested and they do not supply a valid exemption then following an internal review submit a complaint to the ICO. More often than not the ICO will persuade the council to give you the information requested.

The figure given for for delayed information request responses may well be misleading and incorrect. Not surprising when it is considered that a bad example of lack of administrative honesty is set by the CE D Sharkey, who, when challenged to state the number of persons who he had 'sentenced to the single point of contact' treatment, replied : 'One' when he must have known that there were certainly more than that at the time he made the false statement before three witnesses.

This does this council very little credit.
