Dear Mr Tillman,

Under the FOIA, I would like to know how many dogs breeders within
the county have been refused a renewal of their dog breeding
license in total. If you are able to break down any information as
to
a) Premises unsuitable
b) Poor animal husbandry
c) The license holder having been prosecuted for any offence
against animals
d)The license holder having been prosecuted for any offence against
persons
e) The license holder having been prosecuted for any offence
committing criminal damage to property.

I do appeciate this might be more difficult, hence the simple
question posed originally which was:

meeting the required minimum legal standards

Yours sincerely,

Morg Williams

Dear Sir/Madam,

I refer to your request for information regarding dog breeding, which was
received on 24^th January, 2009 and has been dealt with under the Freedom
of Information Act 2000.

You requested information regarding dog breeding licences refused due to
premises not meeting the required minimum legal standards.

We wrote to you on 26^th January asking you to confirm what specific
information you required in relation to any licence applications/renewals
that have been refused.

You kindly responded on 27^th January, explaining that you required the
total number of dogs breeders within the County have been refused a
renewal of their dog breeding license in total between 1^st January, 2008
and 1^st January, 2009. You also asked for a breakdown of the figure,
providing the reason for refusal.

In response, during this period, I can confirm that two applications for
the renewal of dog breeding licences have been refused due to required
standards not being met.

The reasons for refusing the applications were, in both cases, that the
premises were found to be unsuitable for dog breeding.

If I can be of any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact
me.

Yours faithfully
