Dear Somerset County Council,
That was certainly some list of organisations receiving funds from
SCC. Are you able to tell me who administers the system? Can anyone
apply for a grant? If so how is it done?
I can’t seem to print off the list so is it possible to have a
paper copy? I can pop in to C/Hall for it
Yours sincerely

Dear Mrs Prentice
Thank you for you r recent Freedom of Information request relating to
the administration of Grants that provide service or support for the
people of Somerset. I can confirm that this Council holds the
information that you are seeking.
Who administers the grants system? The budget manager for each service
is in charge of administering the grants..
Can anyone apply? Yes, organisations can apply if it is to provide
additional service for the people of Somerset.
How is it done? Apply in writing to the appropriate budget manager.
Contact Somerset Direct on 0845 345 9166, tell them the area you are
interested in applying to and they can let you know who is appropriate
to write to. Once a grant has been approved a service level agreement
will then be put in place that's reviewed annually. Often grants will be
paid on a quarterly or half yearly basis with an interim review before
the next payment is sanctioned.
If you are dissatisfied with the handling of your request, you have the
right to ask for an internal review. Internal Review requests should be
submitted within two months of the date of receipt of the response to
your original letter and should be addressed to Neil Pack
([email address]).
Please remember to quote the reference number (516) in any future
communications.
If you are not content with the outcome of the internal review, you have
the right to apply directly to the Information Commissioner for a
decision. The Information Commissioner can be contacted at: Information
Commissioners Office, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire,
SK9 5AF.
Yours Sincerely
Rob Forse
