Dear Sophie Rises
Request for information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000
I am writing regarding your request for information, which was received on
24 January. In that request you asked for the following information:
*For all records held regarding social workers employed by CAFCASS who
refer them to the GSCC for investigation please state:
1. How many were investigated?
2. How many were refused an investigation?
3. How many complaints were upheld?*
I can confirm that the General Social Care Council (GSCC) holds
information that falls within the description specified in your request.
However, we have estimated that it
will cost more than the appropriate limit to consider your request.
Section 12 of the Freedom of Information Act makes provision for public
authorities to refuse requests for
information where the cost of dealing with them would exceed the
appropriate limit, which for central government is set at £600. This
represents the estimated cost of one
person spending 3 1/2 working days in determining whether the GSCC holds
the information, and locating, retrieving and extracting the information.
Consequently, the GSCC is not obliged by the Freedom of Information Act
2000 to respond to your request.
