Dear Sir or Madam,
Would you please provide for me under the Freedom of Information
Act information to the following questions. I believe all the
information will be known by the Cabinet Office Director of Finance
Mr Jerry Page, whom I believe would have had dealings with all the
subjects I have requested information on.
In April 2001 Ecovert fm were awarded the facility management
contract for the Cabinet Office, it was also at a much later date
it was awarded the security guard contract(after Serco lost the
contract)for the Cabinet Office Estate excluding Admiralty House
and 70 Whitehall which remained in-house under the Cabinet Office
Guard Service.
Ecovert fm started their new security arm in 2004, with only one
commercial security contract that being Kings College in London.
How did Ecovert fm Security prove their competence to be awarded a
Government Guarding contract?
Was there a competitive tender in place for this security contract?
If not, why not?
If there was a competitive tender in place why was a company with
no proven competence in security guarding allowed to tender for it?
Was there a financial incentive(public funds) provided for Ecovert
fm security to apply for this contract?
Yours faithfully,
Paul Griffiths
