Dear Mr Hopkins,
Request for Information (Reference 12/FOI/4335)
I am writing in response to your request under the Freedom of Information
Act (FoIA) 2000 for information about bylaws in Gloucestershire, received
on 27 January 2012. Your request has been carefully considered and I can
confirm that, under section 21 of FoIA, we are not required to provide
information in response to a request if it is already reasonably
accessible to you.
The bylaws are publicly available and are held by the Legal Department at
Shire Hall and at Gloucestershire Archives.
You are welcome to come into Shire Hall to view those held by the
Department, but please will you contact Reception to arrange a date/time
to view the files as they will have to be carried over to a viewing area
for you. The opening times and contact details for Shire Hall are on our
website at [1]http://www.gloucestershire.gov.uk/index.....
The bylaws held at Gloucestershire Archives are held in three collections
and the references are C/CC/D, C/CC/Ob and K639. Their opening times and
contact details are on our website at
[2]http://www.gloucestershire.gov.uk/visitt..., which also links to
the online catalogue and explains how to order items in advance of your
visit.
As Gloucestershire Constabulary are the enforcing body, they will have a
list of active bylaws. Details of how to make a request for this
information are on their website at
[3]http://www.gloucestershire.police.uk/foi....
Please note that, whilst we understand these bylaws to still be in force,
the appropriate District Council would now make and hold any current ones.
