John Grimley made this Freedom of Information request to Department for Communities and Local Government
Response to this request is long overdue. By law, under all circumstances, Department for Communities and Local Government should have responded by now (details). You can complain by requesting an internal review.
From: John Grimley

Dear Department for Communities and Local Government, BCC are
getting rid of a valuable resource in Swanrider transport because
they claim it has a current deficit of £801,000 - this is spending
over and above its allocated budget. This really is unbelievable.
In 2009, BCC contracted Amey to produce a transformation
feasibility report. This was, as far as we know, to enable a
decision to be made on swanrider's future.
The report was produced in November 2009.
We (as a group of drivers) find it rather strange that BCC would
commission a report (presumably costing quite a lot of money?) and
then never again refer to this report when it comes to wanting to
terminate the service. This leads us to believe that the report
wasn't quite what BCC wanted to read. Can we view the contents of
this report under the freedom of information act?
Yours faithfully,
John Grimley
