Dear Ms Samuel,

Thank you for your request.

We do not hold a breakdown of costs associated with the Bus Rapid Transit
scheme. To explain, the Bus Rapid Transit scheme is one part of the Bath
Transportation Package (BTP), which is comprised of a number of elements.
Funding has been provided by the Department for Transport for the BTP as a
whole, not for separate elements. Correspondingly, work and expenditure
for the Planning Applications has been for the Package in its entirety,
not for individual parts. We are therefore not able to provide separate
costs, such as those you requested, for individual elements of the
Package.

If you have any further queries, please let us know.

If you are unhappy with the response to your request, you may ask for an
internal review. Please contact the Council's Head of Audit, Risk and
Information, Mr Jeff Wring at the Guildhall, High St, Bath BA1 5AW
[1]mailto:[email address].

If you are not content with the outcome of the internal review, you have
the right to appeal directly to the Information Commissioner for a
decision. The Information Commissioner can be contacted at Wycliffe House,
Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9 5AF

Dear Information Governance,

Thank you for your e-mail dated 25 March 2009 in response to my
enquiry of 1 March 2009.

I find it incredible that B&NES does not hold this information. At
the very least there must be a running total to date. I understand
that funding is to be provided for the BTP as a whole, however,
someone within the Council must know what has been spent or else
there could be a huge over/under spend.

This is a most unsatisfactory response and I await whatever
information you have on this matter.

Yours sincerely,

Helen Samuel

Dear Information Governance,

Maybe, you have misunderstood my initial request - I was asking for
the breakdown of costs associated with the entire package.

Please could you tell me which department is responsible for
managing the scheme?

Yours sincerely,

Helen Samuel

Dear Information Governance,

Thank you for your message.

I am most surprised that you misunderstood my initial request. It
would have been helpful if you had sought clarification or covered
all the bases by providing the details required in the first
instance. However, I eagerly await the information.

I am quite sure you have the name of the department managing the
scheme to hand immediately.

Yours sincerely,

Helen Samuel
