Dear Ms Carter
I am writing in reply to your request dated 25 June 2008.
In the first instance may I apologise unreservedly on behalf of the
Council. Your request for information was not dealt with within the
20 working day time limit laid down by the Freedom of Information
Act 2000. The reason is that our spam filter incorrectly treated
the request as spam and so it was not processed. Clearly this was
an error on our part and I have discussed with our IT team to
ensure there is no repetition. In addition I am also monitoring the
www.whatdotheyknow.com website so that I am aware of all requests
made.
I am now able to provide the information requested and can confirm
that there was a payment of £188 made to Common Purpose in October
1998. This was for the training costs of one officer of the
council. I regret that, because of changes to our accounts system,
I am unable to provide a copy of the invoice as requested.
Nevertheless I have attached a screen print of the relevant
accounts entry which I trust will suffice.
I hope the above response will meet your purposes but if, for
whatever reason you wish to get back to me, please feel free to do
so. In particular if you are unhappy with the information provided
or how your request was handled please make contact and I will
explain how you can make a complaint either to the Council or to
the Information Commissioner.
Once again please accept my apologies for the slow response.
