The Fees Regulations state that two or more requests to one public
authority can be aggregated for the purposess of calculating costs if they
are
by one person
for the same/similar information
the subsequest request is received by the public authority within 60
working days of the previous request
As you issued two request for information on the same day around the same
subject of child protection, we will aggregate both requests for the
purposes of costs. The request will now be considered and you will receive
a response within the statutory timescale of 20 working days as defined by
the Act, subject to the information not being exempt or containing a
reference to a third party. In some circumstances South Yorkshire Police
may be unable to achieve this deadline. If this is likely you will be
informed and given a revised time-scale at the earliest opportunity
There may be a fee payable for the retrieval, collation and provision of
the information you request. If this is the case you will be informed and
the 20 working day timescale will be suspended until we receive payment
from you. If you choose not to make a payment then your request will remain
unanswered.
Some requests may also require either full or partial transference to
another public authority in order to answer your query in the fullest
possible way. Again, you will be informed if this is the case.

log, which can be found at the following link:

RESPONSE
In accordance with 1 (1) (a) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000, I can
advise you that South Yorkshire Police holds some of the information you
request.
Your request for information has been considered and I am not obliged to
supply the information you have requested. Section 17 of the Freedom of
Information Act 2000 requires South Yorkshire Police, when refusing to
provide such information (because the information is exempt) to provide
you the applicant with a notice which:
(a) states that fact;
(b) specifies the exemption in question and;
(c) states (if that would not otherwise be apparent) why the
exemption applies.
The following exemption applies to the disclosure of the information:
Section 12 *** Exemption where cost of compliance exceeds appropriate
limit
Unfortunately to answer your request would require a manual trawl of
approximately 1.5 million incidents (circa 500k per year). The Incident
Handling System cannot perform a search in this way.
Whilst we cannot provide you with an estimate in terms of the cost in
hours, this is well over the 18 hour limit for Freedom of Information.
The Freedom of Information and Data Protection Regulations 2004 provide
that the cost limit for non central government public authorities is
**450. This must be calculated at the rate of **25 per hour, providing an
effective time limit of 18 hours.
If you are unhappy with the way your request for information has been
handled, you can request a review by following the advice contained in the
separate notice attached to this correspondence:
If you remain dissatisfied with the handling of your request or complaint,
you have a right to appeal to the Information Commissioner at:
The Information Commissioner's Office,
Wycliffe House,
Water Lane,

Cheshire, SK9 5AF.
Telephone: 08456 306060 or 01625 545745

Do you really expect the public to believe that the police and police authority would not have such information readily available - ie 'at its fingertips?
If so, you are liars.
You are not serving the public and should therefore get out and stop taking public money.
