Dear Mr Faux
Please find information below and attachments relating to your information
request;
1. We have eight bridges in the Parish of Llanddulas and have attached
summaries of the inspection and outstanding works as at this date.
2. The frequency of gully emptying is in accordance with the Code of Good
Practice for Highway Maintenance and that is a minimum of once per annum.
Our new Gully Emptying Tender Document which was issued in late 2008
states that the gully emptying contractor should make three attempt to
clear a gully that is obstructing by a vehicle.
I have checked our gully empting records for the Llanddulas area as
requested and they are as follows.
No gully emptying took place on the estate roads of Llanddulas in 2005.
Estate roads cleaned between the 19th April and 12th May 2006. Estate
roads cleaned on the 6th September 2007. Estate roads cleaned on 20th May
2008.

3. & 4. Cleansing of the carriageway and footway is a matter for the
Environmental Services not Highways and Infrastructures.
5. A visual safety inspection of all principal roads including the
footway is made monthly with all other roads in Llanddulas been inspected
every three months and is recorded on our electronic recording system
called Symology.
