Breaking of Patient Confidentiality at the PALs office of the West London Menatl Health NHS Trust

Germain Gross made this Freedom of Information request to West London Mental Health NHS Trust

The request was refused by West London Mental Health NHS Trust.

From: Germain Gross

10 March 2011

Dear West London Mental Health NHS Trust,

Please would you be kind enough to explain what is meant by the
'confidential advice' your PALs office advertises throughout your
PCT literature ?

The dictionary definition of 'confidential' means that a
conversation that is confidential is not discussed with any other
party.

Yet your PALs office breaks patient confidentiality at the
slightest opportunity, and does so in the most damaging way it can.
Any patient who seeks confidential advice at your PALs office will
have every word of their intimate conversations sent to everyone
else in the WLMHT immediately. Is that not the case ?

This is what has happened to an acquaintance of mine, so please do
not deny it. Please explain why you are behaving in this way ?

Please explain what the 'confidentiality' you advertise in the PALs
office means.

Yours faithfully,

Germain Gross
