Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of
the Freedom of Information Act and TfL’s information access policy.  I can
confirm TfL does hold the information you require. You asked for:

 

1. Please could you supply me with the current numbers of licensed taxis
in London and the fleets make up.

 

There are currently 22,618 active licensed taxi vehicles. Please see the
breakdown of vehicle makes below. Please note these figures are correct as
of 29 October 2012.

As of 16 October 2012, 1,229 licensed taxis will have exceeded the 15 year
age limit since its introduction on 1 January 2012 as part of the Mayor of
London’s Air Quality Strategy and unless exempted, they will not be
relicensed as London taxis. For more information regarding the taxi age
limit and possible exemptions please find the notices attached.
