Yours faithfully, Linda Heward

foi, Argyll and Bute Council

Dear Ms Heward,

I refer to your information request below, and regret to inform you that
on this occasion your request has been refused on the basis that release
of this information (at this time) would be likely to be substantially
prejudicial either to this council or to other entities. (S. 33 of
FOISA)

As you may be aware, this council is currently in the midst of a tender
process for training delivery. The format of this tender is for 45 days
training at our training centres in Helensburgh and Ardrishaig between
27th October 2008 and 30th January 2009 with an option for a further 20
days.

The release of the training event data requested, would be likely to
largely reflect the daily rate and ancillary costs of our current
training provider which is the essence of the current tender.

Consequently any release at this time would be likely to substantially
prejudice the commercial interests both of the council and of the
successful tenderer.

Once this process is complete, the exemption may fall away with time,
but this will depend on the circumstances extant at the time of any new
request.

I trust that this clarifies the position

Yours Sincerely

Stephen Doogan
