Dear Sir or Madam,
Please could you let me have a breakdown of the salary increases
and bonuses paid to staff at World Service News and Current Affairs
this year?
Please let me have separate figures for salary bands 7,8,9 and 10
and above, showing: 1) How many people at each level received a
bonus? 2) How many people at each level received an above average
salary increase? 3) How many people at each level received both a
bonus and an above average salary increase.
Please could you also let me know the total amount of bonus money
awarded for each salary grade, and the highest bonus paid at each
grade?
Many thanks for your help.
Yours faithfully,
J Hodges

Dear J Hodges
Thank you for your request, reference RFI20080835, requesting
information about salary increases and bonuses in World Service News &
Current Affairs. In order to identify and locate the information that
you have asked for we need you to clarify it further; specifically,
questions 2 and 3 of your request.
As you may be aware, the BBC has awarded a standard salary increase,
from 1st August 2008, of 2%.
Would you like to know the number of people who received a salary
increase above this standard 2% figure, or would you like to know the
number of people who received a salary increase above the average,
taking into account all the salary increases received?
This part of your request is on hold until we hear back from you. The
period during which a request is on hold is not included in the 20
working-day target for us to respond. If we have not heard back from you
after 20 working days from the date of this letter, we will close this
part of your request.
Yours sincerely
