Blacklisting of Claimant's e-mail Address and Deletion of Documentation

Maxine Jackson made this Freedom of Information request to Employment Tribunals Service

Response to this request is long overdue. By law, under all circumstances, Employment Tribunals Service should have responded by now (details). You can complain by requesting an internal review.

From: Maxine Jackson

12 March 2010

Dear Employment Tribunals Service,

I had two Claims lodged with the Reading Employment Tribunal,
Reading Berkshire, and because I had received totally conflicting
information from various Officers employed there, I submitted a
Freedom of Information Act Request to the Reading E. T. on
04/02/10.

Following that Subject Access Request being received, I discovered
that my e-mail address was from thereon blacklisted to the Reading
E. T and to the whole of the Ministry of Justice in Petty France,
London.

When I received an e-mail from their Data Access and Compliance
Unit (from Mr. D Over) when I tried to e-mail him back to say a
simple thanks for a prompt reply, and to advise him that I would be
sending the required fee next day, I received an immediate
blacklisting to my e-mail address, which extended to several other
destinations also, following what I thought, was a legally made
request.

Please will you confirm to me the number of other Claimants who
have had their e-mail addresses blacklisted to:

(1)The actual Tribunal Hearing Centre where their Claim or Claims
were lodged; and

(2) To the WHOLE of the Ministry of Justice, of which the
Employment Tribunals Service is part of?

Between 01/10/08 and 06/03/10:

Also, following the blacklisting noticed placed on my e-mail
address from the making of my Subject Access Request to the Reading
Employment Tribunal on 04/02/10, I have been receiving
Notifications that have been sent to me during the early hours of
the morning, notifying me that certain letters and/or e-mails have
now been deleted from my computer file at the Reading Employment
Tribunal.

Please will you advise me how many other Claimants from 01/10/08 to
06/03/10 have had e-mails and/or letters that they had sent (that
have been received) at the Employment Tribunal where their matters
were being conducted, deleted several months after those message
had been received?

Thank you.

Yours faithfully,

Maxine Jackson

17 April 2010

Dear Data Access & Compliance Unit,

Between 01/10/08 and 06/03/10:

Following the blacklisting placed on my e-mail
address from the making of my Subject Access Request to the Reading
Employment Tribunal on 04/02/10, I have been receiving
Notifications that have been sent to me during the early hours of
the morning, notifying me that certain letters and/or e-mails have
now been deleted from my computer file at the Reading Employment
Tribunal.

Please confirm why those items, that were received on the days they
were sent to the Reading Employment Tribunal, were later deleted as
unread following the Freedom of Information Act request I made to
the Reading Employment Tribunal on 04/04/10?

I question why the Employment Tribunal where my claims were lodged,
would want to remove 'certain items' following the request I had
made, and this deeply concerning matter, requires an answer, as the
Ministry of Justice do not appear to have the information on how
many 'other' people this has happened to.

Yours sincerely,

Maxine Jackson
