Blacklisting
S J S J made this Freedom of Information request to Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform

Dear Sir or Madam,
In a Guardian article on 28 June 2008
(http://www.guardian.co.uk/money/2008/jun...) it was
stated:
"A spokesman for the Department for Business, Enterprise and
Regulatory Reform explains that the government carried out a
consultation and concluded that as blacklists didn't operate in the
UK, legislation was unnecessary."
As you may be aware, the Information Commissioner's Office has
recently discovered exactly such a blacklisting operation that has
been operation for many years, as has always been suspected.

In light of this, please can you provide all studies, papers and
other relevant documents relating to the existance and/or
regulation of such blacklists.
Please also provide copies of any communication regarding this
topic between yourselves and the companies listed by the
