Dear Sir or Madam,
I would be grateful if you would please confirm if the School has a
Biometric Fingerprinting System, and if it does the following:
I. Costs related to the system (including installation, staff
training and any ongoing maintenance costs)
II. A copy of all correspondence relating to the procurement
process undertaken in obtaining the system
III. A copy of any staff or Governor meeting where the
implementation of the biometric fingerprint registration system has
been discussed.
IV. Details of the procedure and information provided to ensure
parental consent for use of the system.

I made a request for information regarding Biometric Fingerprinting
at your school under the Freedom of Information Act back at the end
of November. The act states you should have replied quite some time
ago so I’d be very grateful if you could give this matter some
attention and provide me with a prompt reply.

We use a biometric system in our dining room. The system is
operated by Kirklees Catering Service, not by us. For further
information you would need to contact them.
We use the Microlibrarian system in our Learning Resource Centre.
At the time we considered introducing the system, all parents
involved with the school were consulted and given an opportunity to
come into school and discuss the system. All parents were given the
opportunity to 'opt out' of the system. All pupil records are
destroyed as they transfer to the local High School.
