Bin Collections

John Thomas made this Freedom of Information request to City of York Council

The request was partially successful.

From: John Thomas

Dear Sir or Madam,

It would be appreciated if you could let me know whether any
documentation is kept by bin disposal operatives should they have
reason to refuse collection of household rubbish?

If such documentation is kept, could you please let me know the
figures for how many households within the City of York have had
problems with refuse collection in the past 12 months and what the
reasons were for this?

Upon how many days in the last 36 months has scheduled refuse
collection not occurred due to strikes, equipment failure or other
personnel issues, and how does the City of York plan to improve
this in the future?

Further to all of the above, any information about strategies being
planned or undertaken by the City of York Council with regards to
waste management and promotion of recycling would be good
information to see.

Yours faithfully,
John Thomas
